FILESMANAGER.ONLINE

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to FilesManager.online and its browser-based File Manager, Folder Merger, articles, and related resources. By using the website, you agree to use it responsibly and only with files, folders, devices, and systems you are authorized to access. If you do not agree with these terms, do not perform file operations through the site.

Authorized use

You may use the tools for lawful, user-initiated local file organization. You must have the right to read each selected source and to create, replace, or remove entries in each selected destination. Selecting a folder does not establish ownership or permission by itself.

Do not use the service to access another person's data without authorization, distribute malware, evade security controls, or violate intellectual-property, privacy, contractual, or other rights.

How the tools operate

The File Manager tool compares two selected folders and can prepare Update Destination, Mirror A to B, or current-state Custom operations. The Folder Merger combines files from multiple sources into one destination and can preserve structure or flatten paths. Conflict choices include Keep Both, Skip, Replace, and Replace Only If Different.

Scanning and preview do not intentionally modify selected files. A write operation begins after you review the preview and give final approval. Approved operations can create directories, copy or replace files, and, in Mirror mode, remove destination-only files.

The tools run on demand in the active browser tab. They do not provide scheduled work, continuous monitoring, or historical two-way reconciliation. Closing the tab, losing permission, or disconnecting a drive can interrupt the outcome.

Your responsibility for previews and direction

You are responsible for confirming which folder is the source, which is the destination, which mode is active, what filters apply, and which rows remain selected. A technically correct plan can still be wrong for your purpose if the folder direction or rule is wrong.

Mirror A to B can permanently remove selected destination-only files after eligible copies complete. Those removals do not use the operating-system Recycle Bin through the current implementation. Replace operations can overwrite a destination version. Custom directions can write from either side. Review paths and actions before approval.

Folder Merger conflict rules also require judgment. Keep Both avoids automatic overwrite by assigning a new destination name, while Replace chooses a source winner according to the displayed source priority. Exact byte equality can establish that two reads match; it cannot determine which different document is more important.

Backups and recovery

Keep an independent, tested backup of important data before using any feature that writes, replaces, or removes files. Do not treat the tool, its preview, an activity report, or a single mirror as a complete backup strategy.

FilesManager.online does not provide file recovery, version history, guaranteed undo, or Recycle Bin integration. Cancellation stops future work as safely as the browser permits, but completed changes remain on disk.

Comparison and verification limits

Fast Compare uses relative paths, sizes, and modification times. Smart Compare uses metadata and performs exact comparison when size or timestamps differ, but matching metadata can still be treated as a likely match without reading every byte. Exact Content Compare reads corresponding files in chunks and is the stronger content-equality mode.

Optional post-copy verification compares current source and destination bytes after a write. A successful verification shows that the data read at that time matched. It does not prove that the source was correct, validate an application's internal file format, prevent future corruption, or guarantee the health of storage hardware.

Files can change between scan and execution. The application rechecks observed source and destination details for important operations and may skip a row as changed after preview. No browser application can provide a transaction across an entire folder tree or eliminate every race with changes made by another program.

Browser and filesystem limits

Full tool functionality requires a compatible browser, a secure context, sufficient permission, available storage, and a filesystem supported by the browser and operating system. Support can vary across platforms and versions. The informational pages remain available when the directory API is absent.

Browser writes may not preserve original timestamps, creation dates, permissions, ownership, symbolic links, alternate data streams, or other native metadata. The tools do not promise access to locked files, protected system locations, cloud providers, SFTP, MTP devices, or volume snapshots.

Availability and changes

The website is provided on an as-available basis. Features can be corrected, changed, suspended, or discontinued. Access can be affected by hosting, browser updates, operating-system changes, network conditions, or device failures. No specific uptime, transfer speed, capacity, or completion time is guaranteed.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or recovery from data loss. Nothing excludes a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You are responsible for losses caused by an incorrect selection, inadequate backup, unauthorized use, device condition, third-party software, or a decision to approve an operation without reviewing it. The Disclaimer provides further practical limitations.
